Giuseppe Crosta– violin (Rome, Italy)

Professor of the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome

He graduated from the Conservatory of  Milan in violin and piano studies. Also, PhD degree in Genoa studying with Corrado Romano. He was the first violin in the orchestra of Cremona and in the  quartet ‘Nuove Sincronie’. With them he actively toured throughout Europe, made CD recordings and broadcasted on the radio. He is the founder of the Piano Trio ‘La Gaia Scienza’, he recorded with them two versions of Brahms Op.8 to CD which are highly praised by critics.   He has also founded and conducted for 10 years the Como Chamber Orchestra. With pianist Patricia Zhigante formed a duo and major part of their repertoire include European music of XIX and XX centuries. Among the most interesting recordings on discs there are monograph on Donatoni, Piano Quintet “Metaphoras” Luis de Pablo, Sonata for solo violin Zimmerman , as well as other records made for RAI, Nuova Era e Teldec.
